How can I tell if I need to have the water heater replaced?

Step 1: Shut off the water valve near the water heater, normally directly above it. Turn the handle to the off position. This will keep more water from going directly into the water heater and onto the floor.

Step 2: Take a garden hose and hook it up to the water connection near the bottom of the water heater. Run the hose outside to the gutter and then open up the valve to drain the water out of the tank.

You will save yourself some money by draining the water heater before we get there if you choose to do so. When we arrive we will call in the model and serial number of the water heater to the manufacturer to see if it is under warranty. If so, we will return the heater to the manufacturer’s representative and process the warranty. If not, we will provide options for a new water heater from various manufacturers based on your needs and preferences.
